Using Social Media Scheduling Tools with Voodoo

24. September 2018

Social media can be an effective way for you to generate more traffic and attract more prospects. But managing all the content across different the different social media networks can be time-consuming, and it can be difficult to keep consistent with posting content.

Some of our users log into each separate network (i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+) individually and post content including Voodoo videos. This can work for some businesses, especially if you are used to logging into each network daily.  But most people get busy and stop sharing content on a consistent basis.

There are tools available for social media to help you stay organized and consistently post to multiple networks. Social media management tools can assist you with curating, scheduling and reposting content on a daily basis across all the different networks. You can login and schedule all of your posts out for a month (or any timeframe). You can quickly share your posts across different networks on different days and times.

Of course, there are many tools available.  If you simply google social media management tools you will see many different options. Some of these options are even free and some have upgraded features that are only a few dollars a month. I'm just going to talk about two of the options available for you, but I highly suggest reviewing much more to determine which one will best meet your needs.

Hootsuite
Hootsuite is used my many Voodoo clients. You can use Hootsuite to follow other sources on social media, allowing you to easily share content across your networks. You can also post your own original content, including videos from Voodoo. It allows you to schedule your posts and also search across the different networks.

Buffer
Buffer is another popular tool used by many Voodoo clients. Buffer is very similar to Hootsuite, but it also has an auto-scheduling feature that will auto-schedule your posts for optimal times. It also has a re-buffer feature allowing you to repost your most popular content.

If you want to be more active on social media, we highly suggest using a social media management tool.

Best Practices for Posting to LinkedIn

13. September 2017

LinkedIn is a social networking site aimed specifically at the business community. It's the world's larget professional networking with hundreds of millions of members. If you want to expand your business' reach and connect with prospects and customers, LinkedIn is a great choice.

This QuickTip covers best practices for posting Voodoo content to LinkedIn. FYI — there are many online resources about the best ways to use LinkedIn, but here are some suggestions for Voodoo users:

What to Post
Unlike Twitter, your posts on LinkedIn can contain up to 1300 characters or five lines of text. But like Twitter, don't make your posts all about you. The content you share should at least 2/3 helpful content and no more than 1/3 promotional content. It's easy to find or "curate" helpful content to share with your followers. Tools like Buzzsumo
can help identify the most popular content by topic.

Be Consistent
Post frequently and consistently. We recommend using a social posting tool like Hootsuite or Buffer which allow you to post to multiple social media feeds simultaneously and schedule your posts in advance. Buffer offers a "rebuffer" feature where you can re-post past content with a single click.

Best Times to Post
According to SproutSocial, the best times to post on LinkedIn

  • Tuesday through Thursday are the most recommended days to post
  • Noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday are the most optimal times to post
  • Least optimal posting times include every day from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Least optimal posting days include Saturday and Sunday
  • Safe to post 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays
Share Videos
Our most important tip is to share high quality content — content your connections will find helpful to their business success. It's okay to post some promotional content aimed at new prospects. Voodoo's exclusive prospecting videos are ideal for this purpose, particularly the Tech Upgrade teaser videos now available in Voodoo telecom accounts.
Posting to Twitter

These  extra-short videos are specially designed for posting to social media and driving traffic to you and your website. The videos are about 2/3 informational and 1/3 promotional in and of themselves, so they're generally perceived as a "soft sell" by people who watch them. Your prospects (and existing customers) quickly discover how costly it is to use old communications technology in today's customer-centric business environment.

Tracking the Number of Click-Throughs

Want to track how many people watch the videos you post on LinkedIn and other social networking services?  It's easy. Just QuickSend yourself a Voodoo campaign and create your post using the video link it generates. Learn how with Voodoo Feature #502 - How to Post Trackable, Personalized Videos on Your Social Media Accounts.

How to Send a Customer Satisfaction Survey (NPS) using Voodoo Templates

4. May 2017

Voodoo now includes a Customer Satisfaction email template in our Business Builder accounts. It's called the Net Promotoer Score (NPS) Survey. This type of survey allows you to score the quality of relationships you have with your customers. With these templates you can launch a survey to your customers in just a few minutes.

There are 3 parts to a customer satisfaction survey in Voodoo:

  1. The survey form that customers submit with their numerical rating and comments
  2. The email template that is sent to customers, containing a link to the survey
  3. The contact lists that store and categorize your contacts according to their response

The Net Promoter Survey Template
Your Net Promoter Survey Template is located in My Surveys.

IMPORTANT:  Access the Submission Settings tab and update the email address where you want to receive notifications. Don't worry, all submission results will be stored with each contact record, but it's often helpful to receive an email notification, too.

Update Email

The Email Template
The Customer Satisfaction Email template is located in Customize Emails > NPS Survey Template Folder > Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Voodoo NPS Email Template

Your NPS Contact Lists
The resulting contact lists are located in My Contacts > Net Promote Survey Results > 3 lists labeled Promoters, Passives and Detractors

Voodoo NPS Contact Lists

The email you send out will link to the survey. Each time a contact responds to the survey, they are added to 1 of the 3 contact lists based on the score they give you. You can use these contact lists to reward promoters, fire up passives and remedy detractors. For example, it's often surprisingly effective to send an email to all Promoters asking for customer referrals.

If you want to check the response of a specific contact, search for the contact in My Contacts, then click the Edit link (pencil icon) and finally, click the Survey Responses tab.

Measure Customer Loyalty with Net Promoter Score

4. May 2017

Do you know how your customers feel about your company and brand? Customer satisfaction surveys are essential to optimizing customer service. At Voodoo, we've seen (and used) many different types of surveys to help businesses gauge customer service performance. One type of survey we always recommend is the Net Promoter Score or NPS Survey. This survey allows you to "score" the quality of your customer relationships usign a standardized measure.

According to www.netpromoterscore.com, "Net Promoter Score®, or NPS®, measures customer experience and predicts business growth. This proven metric transformed the business world and now provides the core measurement for customer experience management programs the world round."

With NPS, you simply survey your customers with one primary question, like this:

On a scale of zero to 10, with 10 being highest, what’s the likelihood that you would recommend us (our company) to a friend or colleague?

NPS Survey

If a customer scores you as a 9 or a 10, they are promoters. These are customers that are extremely likely to recommend, and even promote your company — your most loyal customers.

If a customer scores you as a 7 or an 8, they are passive. These customers either haven't really decided how they feel about you, are indifferent, or they just don't care.

If a customer scores 6 or lower, they are a detractor. These are unhappy customers who will give you bad word-of-mouth.

It's also a best practice to add an open-ended question to solicit general feedback. This gives  survey respondents an opportunity to elaborate on the score they gave your company.

Additional Feedback

To determine your overall official NPS score, using the results from the individual surveys, you take the percentage of promoters and subtract the percentage of detractors. That number is your Net Promoter Score.

Because scores vary widely by industry, you should check benchmarks for your specific industry vertical. npsbenchmarks.com is a useful resource.

Voodoo offers a Customer Satisfaction (NPS) Email Template to all Business Builder users who have our Survey functionality. You should also have a folder with contact lists added to keep track of your survey responses. To get started with sending an NPS survey to your customers, read our blog post How to Send a Customer Satisfaction Survey (NPS) using Voodoo Templates.

How and when to use Funnels to Send to new contacts

13. December 2016

Do you find yourself sending the same email to a series of individual contacts over time? Then this tip offers an important time-saver!

Voodoo Business Builder accounts offer three ways to send your campaigns: Quick SendSend Email, and Funnels.  Each option has certain benefits. In this QuickTip, we'll take a peek at all three sending options, then zero in on the best ways to send an email to one contact at a time: Quick Send and Funnels.

Voodoo QuickTip #809: How and when to use Funnels to Send to new contacts

In a previous QuickTip blog post, When to Use Quick Sends, Campaigns and Funnels, we spoke about the difference between each type of email send:

Quick Send Quick Send: This is a great tool to reach new contacts and build your contact lists every day. Use this to reach out quickly to one person or a small group and add them to a Contact List at the same time.

Send Email Send Email: Lets you send a single-stage personalized campaign (email template) to any group with a few simple clicks. Choose automated notifications for when emails get opened and videos get viewed, plus auto-response emails to follow-up automatically.  (From the Send Email page, launch the Campaign Wizard to be guided step-by-step through the process.)

Funnels & Forms Funnels & Forms: Here's where you'll find the real magic of Voodoo for automated and multi-stage outreach. This area is full of features for power users, allowing you to create drip marketing campaigns, capture forms and automated triggers.

You can configure each feature to meet your needs in various ways. It often seems best to use the Quick Send feature when sending a one-off email to a contact. But if you find yourself sending the same email to a series of individuals, it will be more convenient and effective to utilize a Funnel.

Examples:

You just met two people at a one-time networking event, and you want to send them one-off email.  We recommended using Quick Send.

You often meet people at networking events or via referrals from colleagues and friends. You find yourself sending the same introductory email and video over and over again. You need a perpetual introductory campaign — one where you can keep adding new contacts to a list over time and automatically sending your introductory eVideo. ) Time to set up a Funnel.  Set the wait time to “0” so anytime a contact is added, they will immediately get the email you've selected (this is a “once and done” option).

Advantages of a Funnel:

Automated (Multiple) Emails

The most obvious advantage to a funnel is that you can set up multiple emails to "drip" to your contacts automatically. This is an easy way to continuously reach out to each new contact  over time.

Contact Forms
Every
Funnel has a Contact Form tab. The Contact Form you create here can be used and accessed anywhere to feed new contacts directly into a funnel for drip marketing and nurturing. Contact Forms let salespeople add contacts to specific funnel lists quickly and on the go…from any web-enabled device. No need to log into Voodoo to add new contacts to a list. Simply open a bookmarked Contact Form, fill out the fields and Submit. You can easily drop contacts into your funnels, one contact at a time, automatically triggering your introductory eVideo campaign...or anything else you'd like to send!

To learn about setting up a contact form for your funnel check out our Quick Tips blog post: Turbo-charge your Marketing with Contact Forms.

Comprehensive Reports
If you are using a Quick Send, the reports are individual for each Quick Send. In order to get all the stats, you would have to view each Quick Send report individually.

But when using Funnels, you get a detailed, aggregated view in My Reports.  Funnel statistics show all the contacts your funnel emails are sent to in one aggregated view. It also shows how each contact responds to each email in a funnel sequence (opened, clicked, watched video).

Statistics Snapshot — overall stats for each email in the funnel:

Statistics Details — how each contact responded to each email in the funnel:

For more information on Funnels and Forms be sure to check out Forms and Funnels and Success Automation 101.

Both Quick Sends and Funnels offer Automated Action Alerts, so you can be notified when a contact opens an email, clicks a link, views a video or fills out a survey. To learn more about these alerts visit our blog post, Automated Action Alerts

Business Builder users, log into your Voodoo account and take a closer look at Funnels. And eVideo Launcher users, well...Funnels are yet another reason to upgrade to a full-featured version of Voodoo.
