Measure Customer Loyalty with Net Promoter Score

4. May 2017

Do you know how your customers feel about your company and brand? Customer satisfaction surveys are essential to optimizing customer service. At Voodoo, we've seen (and used) many different types of surveys to help businesses gauge customer service performance. One type of survey we always recommend is the Net Promoter Score or NPS Survey. This survey allows you to "score" the quality of your customer relationships usign a standardized measure.

According to www.netpromoterscore.com, "Net Promoter Score®, or NPS®, measures customer experience and predicts business growth. This proven metric transformed the business world and now provides the core measurement for customer experience management programs the world round."

With NPS, you simply survey your customers with one primary question, like this:

On a scale of zero to 10, with 10 being highest, what’s the likelihood that you would recommend us (our company) to a friend or colleague?

NPS Survey

If a customer scores you as a 9 or a 10, they are promoters. These are customers that are extremely likely to recommend, and even promote your company — your most loyal customers.

If a customer scores you as a 7 or an 8, they are passive. These customers either haven't really decided how they feel about you, are indifferent, or they just don't care.

If a customer scores 6 or lower, they are a detractor. These are unhappy customers who will give you bad word-of-mouth.

It's also a best practice to add an open-ended question to solicit general feedback. This gives  survey respondents an opportunity to elaborate on the score they gave your company.

Additional Feedback

To determine your overall official NPS score, using the results from the individual surveys, you take the percentage of promoters and subtract the percentage of detractors. That number is your Net Promoter Score.

Because scores vary widely by industry, you should check benchmarks for your specific industry vertical. npsbenchmarks.com is a useful resource.

Voodoo offers a Customer Satisfaction (NPS) Email Template to all Business Builder users who have our Survey functionality. You should also have a folder with contact lists added to keep track of your survey responses. To get started with sending an NPS survey to your customers, read our blog post How to Send a Customer Satisfaction Survey (NPS) using Voodoo Templates.

New Thumbnail Images for Posting Voodoo Videos to Social Media and Websites

9. November 2016

We've all witnessed the massive growth of social media. Has your business taken the plunge?  Social media can be a cost-effective way to promote and grow your business. But creating content to "feed the beast" of social networks can be overwhelming and time consuming. In this Voodoo QuickTip we talk about how to use your Voodoo custom-framed video content, along with images (that we now provide to you) to boost social media engagement and drive traffic to your website.

Voodoo QuickTip #712: Thumbnail Images for Posting Voodoo Videos to Social Media and Websites

As a Voodoo user, you can post links to your co-branded and personalized videos on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. This helps you build traffic, engagement, fans, connections and followers. You can see exactly how many people clicked through to watch from each post, and you're likely to be surprised at the high view rates.

Check out this Voodoo QuickTip on How to Post Trackable, Personalized Videos to Your Social Media Accounts.

Now that you know you can easily post a link to any video in your Video Library on LinkedInFacebookTwitter, let's talk about how (and why) to add still thumbnail images to your social posts. Adding an image is one of the best ways to increase engagement with social media followers (clicks, retweets, shares, replies, comments).

According to TwitterTweets with photos receive an average 35% boost in Retweets
That means driving more traffic to your content, and more potential prospects learning about the products and services your company offers.

You can also leverage Voodoo videos by posting them on your company website. Adding video to your website can increase your SEO rankings, and drive more traffic to your site.  The most flexible way is to place a small thumbnail image from the video on your website.  Link the thumbnail to one of your Voodoo videos.  When visitors click-through, they'll see a full-size version of the video playing in your company's custom frame.

Increase Click-Throughs using Thumbnail Images for your Videos

23. September 2014

It's well known that embedding graphics in your emails can increase your click-through rates.

When you insert a video link into a Voodoo email template, the default is set up to display text in place of the VideoLink tag. Did you know that you can also include a thumbnail image that links directly to your video?

Take a look at this example:

Using Thumbnail Image Example

Using an image as the click-through link for the video draws attention to it, and highlights that the link leads to an actual video.  This week's QuickTip walks you through the easy steps to use an image as your video link in an email template.

Voodoo Feature #58 - Using a Thumbnail Image for your Video Link

Business Builder users, just follow these steps to Embed a Thumbnail Image that Links to Video in your email template:

1.  Create your thumbnail image. You can easily do this by taking a screen capture of your video, shrinking it down to a usable size.  I generally use a width of 250 pixels - but you can use any size you prefer. Place your play arrow on top of the main image from the video  (see example above). Note: Voodoo is not an image editing application. Do this step in an application like Photoshop or the equivalent.

2.  Login to your Voodoo account and access the Email Template.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the email to the Video Link Used in Message option and select the video link you wish to insert from the drop down menu.

4. Once you have selected the video, you will see the Display Text for Video Link right below the Video.  This is the linkable text that will appear in your email template.  If you wish to change this text, or add and use a thumbnail image, click the Edit link to the right.

Display Test for Video Link

5.  A window will open where you can edit the text.  To insert an image, click the Image icon.

6.  Select the image you want to use by clicking the Browse Server button. You can select an existing image from your Image Library or upload a new image during this step by clicking the Choose a File and then the Upload button.

7.  Click OK. Once you return to your Email Template, be sure to Save it.

Send a test email to yourself so you can take a look at how the email displays with the image and how the click-through works. Now that you have that nice new thumbnail image, y
ou can reuse it on your website or social media platforms to promote your video. Check out our post, Using Customized Videos on Your Website.

Business Builder users, give this a try right now by logging into your Voodoo account.  And eVideo Launcher users, this is another important reason to upgrade to a full-featured version of Voodoo.

eVideo Launcher - Previewing Videos

14. August 2014

Voodoo has now made it easier for eVideo Launcher users to preview their videos in their custom branded video frame

You can preview each of the emails and now also the videos that are associated with the specific campaign by clicking on the email & green play arrow button icons.

Previewing the videos also allows for copying your unique branded and personalized video page URLs for "outside" Voodoo eLauncher use, creating text and graphic links in Websites, Landing Pages, Social Media & Email Signatures.

Just log into your eVideo Launcher accounts and start a new campaign.  In Step 1 where you choose your campaign you will now see green play arrow icons that you can click to preview your video.  Once the video opens you can easily copy the URL and use it anyway you choose.
